Arts and Culture
The Fine Arts are alive and well in Bryan, College Station and throughout the great state of Texas. From professional to amateur level there are many excellent theater groups, musical companies, orchestras, chamber groups, museums, galleries, artists and craftsmen. If any of these interest you, then you need to join our Arts & Culture group. One of the Women’s Club’s oldest interest groups, it was created to foster in its members an appreciation for and understanding of the fine arts by attending and supporting many artistic endeavors locally and out of town.
Get together dates and times vary, we have lots of weekend and evening events!

Let’s stay connected and keep the group active. **Sign-up to pass books for the 2024-2025 will close on September 22**

Shanghai Rummy
Shanghai is a fun rummy-style card game with 3-4 players per table. We meet on the second Monday of each month from 1-4 p.m. . No experience is required – you’ll be given a copy of the rules, but it’s easiest to learn by just getting in there and playing!
Each person puts $2.00 in the pot, and the winners split the cash at the end of the game. There are seven rounds, each with a little different variation with books and runs. You will need a minimum of one dime per round. Most rounds require an additional 2-3 dimes for buying cards or getting “shanghai-ed”, so plan on bringing at least $2.00 in dimes along with the entry fee.
Members take turns providing light snacks.
